Philips Sonicare DailyClean 2100 Electric Toothbrush Unboxing and Review
The Electric Toothbrush model we bought is Philips Sonicare Essence + Whitening DailyClean 2100 (HX3211 / 23). Below is the box with the product printed on it.
This model is not very expensive and can be bought in many stores, such as local stores or online stores like Amazon. It usually includes a toothbrush head and a charger. Below are the contents of the package, there is also a manual but we forgot to put it in for the picture.
The current electric toothbrushes are generally waterproof. However, you still need to read carefully on the packaging or instructions. Generally, you will see the product marks the waterproof. The waterproof feature should be one of the basic requirements for a electric toothbrush.
Battery and charging:
Another important point is the battery and charging voltage range.
Generally speaking, lithium batteries are more durable than nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) or nickel-manganese batteries, but lithium batteries have less current than nickel-metal hydride batteries, and lithium batteries require more complex safety controls because lithium batteries are more likely to explode than nickel-metal hydride batteries.
As a toothbrush, I personally feel that with the current technology, nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries seems be better, nothing else, just because they are safer. The one we bought is a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery. Although the Amazon ad says it is a lithium battery, it is actually a nickel-metal hydride battery. This is better, I personally like it better, because safety is more important.
The following is the supplied charger, which is suitable for the voltage range of 100v ~ 240v. Many Oral-B electric toothbrushes in the Canadian market only support voltages around 100v but not 240v, but Philips electric toothbrushes are not the same. When they designing products, maybe they have considered the all over the world markets, most of Philips products support voltages in different countries. The Philips Sonicare Essence + Whitening DailyClean 2100 (HX3211 / 23) electric toothbrushes that we bought basically support the voltage range of 100v ~ 240v. This is more convenient for people traveling between different countries. For example, the voltage in China is 220v and the voltage in Canada is 110v. The toothbrush can be used directly in China and Canada without a voltage ransformer.
